When I upgraded to an FX-8320 (rest of the system stayed the same) and ran that at 4GHz, it was noticeably slower in all single-threaded benchmarks. Source

The newest Phenoms (Phenom II) have on-par or slightly above the IPC of the oldest FX CPUs (Bulldozer, FX-(4/6/8)100.) Not the ones that are out now like the FX-(4/6/8)300 and definitely Thank you for helping us maintain CNET's great community. For max you need atleast 16gb of ram and a i7. But reaching that point isn't always as simple as plopping in a new graphics card, and it can be tough to identify what parts are due for an upgrade. Probably the case also since a full size gpu will most likely not fit in what I assume to be an older pre built. But to do that, you’ll have to have a motherboard that supports the upgrade.

Upgrading pre built PCs is always tricky. That can fix some compatibility issues. permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive goldreplycontinue this thread[–]Never_wrong_ 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago(3 children)When can selling anything used afford you a newer better version of a similiar item. permalinkembedsavereportgive goldreply[–]veive 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago(0 children)link to the pc requirements You need to double the RAM and upgrade your GPU.

Help me upgrade my computer! Help me upgrade my computer please Can anyone help me upgrade my computer? I just upgraded from my aging gt230 (actually a surprisingly great card for costing next to nothing) and was happy to see performance and graphics be able to jump a good Those new Helium filled drives or 8+ TB drives are not old enough to be called safe, because when looking at the bigger picture, they are still in its infancy stage.

  • I suggest a skylake i5, 16gigs of ram, with a 1060 or 480 gpu.
  • If speed is the sole reason for the upgrade, rethink where you’re spending your money. 3.

I could do something like this if I wanted too, but it would likely require around $250 ($120 for GPU, $30 for a cheap power supply with enough watts, and $100

Help me upgrade my computer :) Help me!!! this contact form It might serve that purpose well. No money left for a new GPU and monitor, so it will be interesting to see if this platform upgrade (from Intel Q9400 cpu + LGA775 Mobo) will give me some For Faster CPUs If your CPU is rather new, the performance gains that come from upgrading to a newer one are going to be fairly minimal.

This is not Battle.net lag, but your game trying to load assets that it has already loaded. A newer motherboard opens up a range of options for your PC that we’ll cover in a moment, but it also leads to additional compatibility upgrades that can be quite expensive. I had a motherboard that claimed the same, but an R9 270 would not work with it, probably because it (the mobo) hadn't adopted the PCIe 2.1 power improvements. my setup is AMD FX-8350, Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X 4GB WINDFORCE, and 8gb Ram. This is my current setup: CPU: AMD FX-6100, which to my knowledge is not overclocked, and has a Cooler Master as CPU cooler.

I was thinking for: ASUS M5A97 R2.0, SAPPHIRE Radeon™ RX 480 NITRO OC, AMD FX X8 8350 4000MHz, HyperX FURY Black 8GB DDR3 1866MHz.

Every part is outdated. I would definitely go to at least 8 gigs of ram, which is also cheap, i think in the sub $40. Using the site is easy and fun. Check This Out You will also need a new PSU, I think.

More specifically, the motherboard CPU socket needs to match that of the CPU’s socket. Once my GPU show up, gonna be blazing those new games. permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive goldreply[–]everyZig 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago(2 children)PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i3-4170 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor $117.88 @ OutletPC Motherboard MSI H81M-P33 I dug up my old test results: Phenom II X6 1090t @ 4.0 GHz and 7870 @ stock clocks: 3DMark06: Overall Score: 22421 CPU Score: 6717 3DMark11: Overall Score: X2401 Physics
